the fact that i have not updated this mofo in a long ass time probably proves that i've kinda lost interest in this old habit. i'm just too lazy now to bother to sit down and write an entry ... once in a while i'll browse thorugh other people's stuff, but otherwise i am announcing here and now ... that i am retiring from miss padora's xanga. thank you ... we've had a good run together ...

like "sex & the city" ... great sex can't last forever, but you always remember how it ends. (although my ending is not so memorable ... but you get the drift ...) that's all, folks!

this is parada ... signing off!

i've been too lazy to update. no motivation for the quarter at all. ehhh. i guess i'll highlight a few things ... some recent, some not so much .... hah.

:: modest mouse concert with bj and dre ... standing for 3 hours waiting for the band to come on was disappointing, plus their play list was far from impressive. some randomass duo opened for the opening band, and all the lead singer/guitarist was yelling was "the mother in law said, bring me the dishwasher's head!" ... strangeness. fortunately, the real opening band helio sequence saved the show ... they were surprisingly good. and we saw the drummer walking on the side of the street with a duffle bag and some guy while we were driving out of a drive-through. random, huh.

:: nofx and alkaline trio were here for the "punk voter" tour. we got there too late and missed alkaline trio  ... some guy was shoving some "progressive" political agenda in all our faces ... i have never seen ucsd so politically charged, it was fuckin' crazy! anyway, i must say i'm definitely over my punk phase ... nofx is cool and all, but i'm really just over the whole punk scene. i'm gettin' too old for all the head bangin' and violent musical sequence.

:: regina, frank, toan, ankit, and brian flew down to sd for their spring break (which was during our first week). eugene and i showed them around the area and hit up tijuana. can i just say that i do not want to go to tj ever again ... it was fun goin' with all the kids who hadn't been there before, but otherwise i have absolutely no desire to step into that part of mexico again.

:: bj just received a bid to pledge for sigma chi. fuck, i'm gonna have a frat boy for a boyfriend. hahah. great, just great. i told him that as long as he doesn't wear those sweatshirts with the greek letters on them, it's okay. haha.

:: no academic motivation whatsoever. i wanna do everything but study. i have been attending classes regularly, but studying ... is a whole different story. i have done jack shit ... i'm way behind. fuck yea. been goin' to the beach and shit ... the lovely weather doesn't help either. i mean, come on, who wants to stay in and study ...

:: many, many good shows comin' up ... pinback, kinky, 4th avenue jones, and dave chapelle are all gonna be at ucsd! even westside connection is coming. hah, not that i really care, but i'm sure it's gonna be a big show [like 50 cent was here last year]. and of course, spring's got sun god, baby! i've been contemplating whether i should go to coachella or not ... the line-up is incredible ... but it's a lot of money to go. payton's down to go, but me and andrea are financially challenged at the moment ... perhaps next year ...

:: as for ra stuff ... i'm working on a command performance ... a reggae festival ... "lively up yourselves" ... it's gonna be a lot of work, but i hope it's all worth it. we got some good things lined up. we'll see how they go ...

aight, gonna finish doin' laundry and get back to work. nerd status mode, fa sho. peace.

Love Jones

"romance is about the possibility of the thing. you see, it's about the time between when you fisrt meet some fine-ass woman ... and when you first make love to her. and when you first ask a woman to marry you ... and when she says i do. when people been together a long time say that romance is gone ... what they're really saying is they've exhausted the possibility."

'love jones' is officially my new favorite movie. i mos definitely have a soft spot for black romantic comedies. first, brown sugar. now, love jones. what's next? two can play that game? any suggestions? on the real though, love jones is undeniably one of the most refreshing and intriguing love story i have seen portrayed on screen. so, please, watch it if you get a chance.

p.s. all i gotta say is ... finals are over! yea-yeah! have a kickass spring break y'all! i'm gonna be packin' like a mothafucka ... haha.

p.s.s. i am quite upset and disappointed that although i got rehired for a warren ra position next year ... they're putting me in the res hall again! fuck. i really wanted to be in the apartment. i'm gonna do something about this ... i can't stand another year without being able to cook in my own kitchen and not to have a living room! where are all my off-campus homies gonna hang out at when they're on campus?? i want my kitchen, i want my living room, i want my king-size [twin+twin] bed ... i want my apartment!  --> angry ra ...  ...  @#asfdkljt#&%^$!!!

continuing from my previous entry ...

so, after cheering on other runners for quite a while ... miranda and i were anxiously waiting for BED to cross the last stretch of the marathon. finally, we see daniel, so miranda and i ran aside him for maybe a block or so before we got kicked off to the side. miranda and i thought that we had missed eugene and brian since daniel said they might have passed him already. but luckily, we caught a glimse of brian right before he was about to cross the finish line ... screamed a few "GO, BRIAN!" before we lost sight of him. we were waiting around for a bit, but miranda and i thought that we had really missed eugene. so, we decided to head back to the apartment.

after a short while, an extremely fatigue brian, wrapped in that shiny, aluminum-like cape, showed up at the door ... and finally about an hour later, daniel and eugene got back. the boys were all in bad shape--deathly tired and badly sun-burnt. [the weather in la was hotness! ] miranda and i were super tired, too, even though we ran like .005 miles. hahah.

anyway, after everybody showered and napped a bit, we headed out for dinner at sushi nazi--i mean, sushi mac. good sushi for really good prices. but the waitress was hella bitchy and the restaurant even had like a whole set of rules for ordering their food and shit. fuckin' sushi nazi! after dinner, we made our way back ... thanks miranda for driving all our asses back! all of us were tired as hell ... i pretty much passed out when i got home.  [i'm sorry i didn't call you spencer  ... we didn't have much time! ... next time fa sho ... another PEAS reunion!] all in all, BED kicked major assphalt at the marathon [they ran 26 fuckin' miles in about five hours! crazy shit!] ... yay for the weekend in la!

as for other things ... one and a half more weeks until this quarter is over. i got 4 fuckin' papers to write for finals. that's about 40 pages worth of material!  i'm definitely starting way early ... i am actually going to finish my poli sci paper by tonight [hopefully] ... it's not due til monday ... hot damn! it's a miracle for me in this sunny city of san diego. haha.

the weather in sd has been real nice ... makes you wanna just play outside and not go to class. hah.

my cousin dee is coming to sd with her two lovely and super adorable happa kids sean and danae  ... although i won't be able to join them for their trip to sea world, hopefully i'll still get to see them.

downtown sd with bj this saturday ... a day full of retail therapy [urban outfitters!], eating, and lots of distractions from studying  ... bj is my favorite! hahah. fuckin' dorkass.          pb + bj = dorkiness outta control!

03.11 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, REGINA! i love ya, girl! you my homie, fo life!

03.12 HAPPY FUCKIN BIRTHDAY, B! you know you my korean homeboy, fa sho. hope you had fun at your bday party ... buca de beppo this saturday ... yumm ...

alright, gotta get ready for class. damn, this was a pretty long entry. haha. enjoi!

yay, time for a little updating. so, this weekend was pretty damn exciting. let's start with friday night ...

we all gathered together at tom's for a little shindig in honors of brian's bday ... fun times as always ... a little too much drinking for the birthday boy, but otherwise ... good times, good times. saturday night, suffering from mild cases of hangover ... brian, eugene, daniel, miranda, and i headed off to la along with linda. the ride was not that pleasant because there were 6 people squeezed inside that two-door honda accord. it was definitely cramped ... i need space for my booty, you know!

anyway, we made it in time to the la convention center for the boys to pick up their bibs and registration packages and what not. we made a quick stop at ucla to pick up keys from brian's sister since we were going to spend the night at his grandma's house. had dinner at cpk ... came back to brian's grandma's downtown apartment ... got ready to go out to k-town. a night out on the town with BED and P & M ... well, not exactly. we met up with miranda's friends at this korean bar that supposedly didn't card. however, i think because we had a big party altogether, they decided to card us. barely half of the people had id's ... so, the bar decided to kick us out. eugene and i were not in the party harty mood ... the two of us got dropped off back at the apartment. brian and daniel met up with miranda back at the bar and they ended up staying and gettin' a little happy happy because apparently one of the guys that came a little after eugene and i left knew the owner of the bar. good luck for them.

instead of sleeping like we thought we would ... eugene and i ended up staying awake until brian and daniel came back ... which was already around 2 or 3 am. now, keep in mind that those three fools have a 26-mile marathon to run that morning. basically, eugene got about 2 hours of sleep that morning, brian didn't sleep at all, and daniel got drunk. good way to prepare for a marathon, huh! miranda came home at around 5am. i was trying to fall asleep, but as soon as i was close to sleeping ... the boys decided to bombard me on the bed! it was quite frightening. anyway, miranda and i passed out until around 11ish ... we finally headed out to support the marathon [which started at 8:30am] around noon-ish.

oy! gotta go to class ... more later!
